Coriander powder, or ketoembar in Indonesian cuisine, is the finely ground seed of an umbrella-shaped plant, and the fresh leaves are also widely used. The round seeds have a spicier and sweeter flavor than the leaves. You use coriander, among other things, in Asian and North African dishes. It is also delicious in bread, pastries, and chutney.
Tip: Toast the seeds before use in a dry frying pan for extra aroma and flavor. Afterwards, you can use them whole or grind them in your mortar.
