Turmeric/kurkuma, organic, 40 g

Turmeric or yellow root (known as koenjit in Indonesian cuisine) is a member of the ginger family. The ground rhizome imparts the well-known orange-yellow color and a slightly bitter, fairly sharp flavor to curry powder and various Asian and North African dishes. Delicious: add half a teaspoon of turmeric while cooking rice for a beautiful color and exotic flavor.

Turmeric is also used to make 'golden milk': a warming, spiced drink made from (plant-based) milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom.
