Maple syrup was once discovered by the Canadian Indians. The fresh sap from the wild maple tree is harvested in the spring and boiled down to this deliciously sweet, deep golden syrup. Use maple syrup for its unique flavour in place of sugar in desserts and cakes, over ice cream, with pancakes and waffles, etc. A small splash of maple syrup is also delicious over baked bacon!
