Cleaning sponge, loofah

Also ideal for washing up, in combination with our 'solid' dishwashing soap. After use, rinse the sponge clean under the hot tap.

For natural cleaning: a great alternative to plastic scouring pads. Also nice: it absorbs less detergent or soap than standard sponges but lathers well. Has the ""sponge"" been used up? Throw it away with the organic waste or on the compost heap.

Loofah is a plant related to the cucumber and zucchini and is mainly grown in countries around the Mediterranean Sea and in Southeast Asia. To make vegetable sponges from it, the dried fibrous fruit is cut into pieces.
