Sweet-herby aniseed is used, among other things, for baking (very tasty in cookies and bread) and for making aniseed-flavoured milk. However the unique flavour of aniseed also works well in (sweet) pickling recipes and homemade liqueur. Use the whole seeds, slightly bruised or finely ground in a mortar.
