Bake your own delicious, typically British scones with this mix from windmill 'De Vlijt' in Wageningen (NL). Delicious with clotted cream and jam or lemon curd! Add: 85 g of cubed butter, 175 ml of milk, 1 beaten egg, 1 tsp of lemon juice. Method: place the mix and butter in a bowl. Rub with your fingertips until a crumbly mixture forms. Mix the lemon juice into the milk and add to the mix. Stir with a fork until a lumpy dough forms. Knead it briefly. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 3 cm, and cut out circles of about 5 cm Ø. Space evenly on a greased baking tray (or use ovenproof paper) then brush with the egg. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 220 ˚C for about 25 minutes until done.
