Our supplier PlanToys makes beautiful and sustainable toys. Durable because it is very sturdy and therefore lasts a long time. But mainly because it is made of wood from "aged" rubber trees, grown for latex production. Such a tree lasts for about 30 years, after that it no longer gives rubber. In the past, the tree was then cut down and used for firewood. A shame, because rubberwood is beautiful and very strong. PlanToys gives retired trees a second life as toys. Everything from the tree is used: not only the trunk and the best pieces, but also the sawdust - along with safe glue and paint - is made into toys. The tree roots convert PlanToys into energy for the factory.
